Favorite Workout: Mostly hero workouts. Specifically, Lumberjack, Hidalgo, McGhee, Murph, Glen, Whitten and Wittman. I’m currently working on a triple Murph.
Favorite lift: I love the Thruster. It really does work everything. Everyone hates them so I like being different.
Favorite Workout Music: Doesn’t really matter to me. At some point, I lose all senses and can only hear my heart jumping out of my chest.
Which class do you usually attend? 5:30am
How did you find out about CrossFit? My ex-girlfriend told me she thought I would like it. She was right.
Did you play sports back in the day? Or was it all smoking butts under the bleachers? Well, I played lacrosse goalie and missed games to go to Grateful Dead concerts, you do the math.
How has CrossFit changed your life outside of the gym? I love being able to do my job without getting hurt. People and lobster traps are heavy.
What and/or who motivates/inspires you? Ernest Shackleton, Bruce Lee, Sir Edmund Hillary, Reinhold Messener. Just to name a few. There is a ton more.
Name one goal/personal achievement you would like to achieve with the
gains made through CrossFit? I would like to do an Ironman and run a 100-mile ultra-race.
What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? Mostly hanging with my 2 sons but I have been getting into a lot of ski mountaineering lately and plan to get in some trail running in the near future.
What’s your favorite aspect of CFCA? The people that come to work out here.
CFCA favorite memory? When my wife was going through cancer treatment, things were obviously at an all-time low. We were paid a visit by Karen Conant with food and donations from the CFCA community. I wasn’t even a member at that time, but I knew there was something special about a group of people that cared enough to help my family when we needed it. Thank you!
