Which class do you usually attend? 5:30 a.m. and Saturday Team

How did you find out about CrossFit? Just searching online for a gym when I moved to Gloucester.

Did you play sports back in the day? Or was it all smoking butts under the bleachers? I wish I had played sports – there are so many benefits! But no, I was a chorus and theater geek.

How has CrossFit changed your life outside of the gym? CrossFit has changed my life in so many ways! I have made wonderful friends and feel very socially connected. I’ve only lived here for 2 1/2 years and I never dreamed that I would find a such a supportive and welcoming community. Especially not so quickly! Also the workouts are such a boost for my mood. I’m at my happiest when I’m consistently training.

What and/or who motivates/inspires you? My 5:30 a.m. peeps! Not only does this group consistently give it their all, they’re also encouraging and good-natured. Not so easy first thing in the morning!

Name one goal/personal achievement you would like to achieve with the gains made through CrossFit? Well this past summer, I was able to hit my goal of 100 mile bike ride. CrossFit was instrumental because it kept me working hard all winter. Next year I plan to beat my current time and also complete a multi-day ride.

What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? Road biking with my husband, walking and reading.

What’s your favorite aspect of CFCA? The people! It is such an active community and there is always something going on that you can be a part of.

CFCA favorite memory? Ladies weekend in NH just a couple weeks ago. Truly unforgettable! The ladies of CFCA are such a fun and welcoming group and I’m so happy to spend time with them.

Any tips for the new members? Keep showing up! You will never regret a workout but you will regret missing out.
