Favorite WOD Music: Some old school rap or hip hop gets me going. Eminem /salt n pepa / cypress hill / beastie boys type stuff
Which class do you usually attend? I typically like a good nooner (wink wink) but also enjoy the kettlebell class on Tuesday nights and the Saturday morning community workout.
How did you find out about CrossFit?
I did a 6 week trial I found online at Crossfit in Ipswich. When that was over I heard through word of mouth how great CFCA was so I went to a Saturday class and joined right then and there. The rest is history.
Did you play sports back in the day? Or was it all smoking butts under the bleachers? I played basket ball and a little soccer but mostly I was a cheerleader.
How has CrossFit changed your life outside of the gym? I feel so good! I’m eating healthier and feel stronger. I completed my first 5k and a warrior dash since I started CFCA. I’ve always wanted to do those things but never thought I would be physically able to.
What and/or who motivates/inspires you? All the coaches at CFCA have been so good to me. All the people in the same classes with me inspire me. And Fitz of course… on some days he has to drag me kicking and screaming but I’m always glad and thankful he did!
Name one goal/personal achievement you would like to achieve with the
gains made through CrossFit? I would love to complete a spartan race and run a half marathon. Maybe even some day a full marathon.
What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit?
Hmmmm…. gotta be honest I enjoy wining and dining.. Lol Aside from that I love to travel and enjoying reading. I also love spending time with my dog Buster!
What’s your favorite aspect of CFCA? The members and the coaches. Everyone’s so supportive and encouraging. It’s a kind of beauty that sadly we don’t see much of in the world anymore.
CFCA favorite memory? Oooooo there’s a few.. have to narrow it down to my first strict pull up and when I got the rope climb down. It was so rewarding getting to the top of the rope because I really struggled with it when I first started.
Any tips for the new members? Don’t be intimidated. Never quit. Keep working hard on it the things you struggle with and they will come to you. And you will smile so darn hard when they do!
