Occupation outside of being a CrossFit champ: Code Warrior Princess? My actual title is Lead UI Engineer, which technically means that I am… a code warrior princess ;)

Hometown: Sector Hoyos Malos del barrio de Monte Bello en el pueblo de Manatí, PR.  Sorry you asked? Here it is lost in translation: Bad Potholes sector of the Beautiful Mountain neighborhood in the town of Manatí, PR.

Favorite workout: Any workout I can finish is my favorite workout.

Favorite Lift: Front squat.

Favorite WOD music: Gettin’ jiggy wid it.  Hip Hop.

Which class do you usually attend? the Monday Thursday evening class.

How did you find out about CrossFit? At a club, in Boston.  You see, my friends were taking me out of my Cape Ann shell, and injecting me into the clubbing night life of the city.  During some down time, the conversation turned to fitness, and a crossfit gym in Gloucester that a couple of them wanted to try during Open Gym Saturdays.  I decided to check it out, and the rest is history.

Did you play sports back in the day? Or was it all smoking butts under the bleachers? Hell no. I climbed trees as a child, however.  I was a straight-edge, goody two-shoes.

How has CrossFit changed your life outside of the gym?  Oh boy, where to begin?  My circle of friends has increased significantly, it has given me a group to share the good donuts in life, and my life is now action packed.  It’s simply transformative.

What and/or who motivates/inspires you? Genghis Khan, obviously.  No, kidding.  All the people that do one better than I in life, in sport, and in kindness: Kara, Jaime, Curtis, Erika, Joanne, Leah… the list simply goes on and on.  I’m getting emotional.

Name one goal/personal achievement you would like to achieve with the gains made through CrossFit? I would like to curl 35 pounds repeatedly, and to front squat my weight repeatedly, as I once did after college.  A bigger ass would be nice too.

What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? I like to detail my vehicles, hike with my dogs, swim, run, experience art that moves me, eat delicious food and listen to live music.

What’s your favorite aspect of CFCA? The community aspect, hands down. CFCA folk have hearts as big as the weights they lift.

CFCA favorite memory? I remember one of those workouts with decreasing reps, 40-30-20, etc.; we had run out of time, and one member, who was almost done, continued doing burpees to finish the workout. Instantly, all of the trainers got down, in unison, to do burpees with her.  It blew my mind.  The class followed suit, and all joined in.
I’m telling you, CFCA peeps have hearts of gold.

Any tips for the new members?  Just do it!  You’ll never look back.  #CFCA4Life
